Pondering on what it will take to bring manufacturing back to the UK

We are experiencing a bottleneck in our business. And it has everything to do with a need to up-skill a generation that missed out on the opportunity to work in the UK manufacturing industry.

We could complain about the enormous wealth of expertise we have lost in the years since thousands of factories closed down and at the very least downsized; or we could maybe just thank our lucky stars we have an excellent opportunity to rethink the process and adapt to a very new age of efficient quality and collaborative innovation.

Maybe an age where UK factories are pioneering a movement that measures GP Margins alongside Gross ‘National’ Happiness?

An age where UK factories with a healthy history of innovation, prototyping and IP can measure this on their balance sheet?

And the UK manufacturing output starts to really blossom once again, with a solid and motivated and inspired young workforce at the roots.

We’re continuing this conversation across all platforms #ukfuturefactory
